A Taste of El Salvador

This week we went out to dinner to an El Salvadorean restaurant.  Apart from the most delicious guacamole that I have ever tried, we also sampled pupusa, El Salvador’s most traditional kind of food.  Pupusa are a thick handmade tortilla stuffed with cheese, pork, refried beans and or loroco (a type of flower native to Central America).  We also sampled yuca (cassava root – similar to a potato).
